The Client-Directed Home Care Invoicing (CDHCI) program is an Alberta Health Services (AHS) initiative that empowers Calgary seniors and families to choose their own trusted care providers while utilizing government home care funding.

How it Works: Utilizing Your AHS Funding

1. Assessment & Care Plan                                                                                                                                                                                                An AHS Home Care Case Manager completes a formal assessment to determine your health needs and establish your approved care hours and budget allocation.

2. Select Dhanvantari Wellness as Your Provider

You notify your Case Manager that you choose Dhanvantari Wellness to deliver your home care services under the CDHCI program.

3. Custom Care Plan & Scheduling

We meet with you and your family to tailor a care schedule, select compatible caregivers, and define your personalized care goals.

4. Direct Billing Coverage

Our care team delivers the agreed-upon services, and Dhanvantari Wellness bills Alberta Blue Cross directly on your behalf - ensuring seamless care with no out of pocket hassle. 

 

Services Covered Under CDHCI Funding

Through the CDHCI program, eligible AHS funding can be applied directly toward a wide range of personalized home care services offered by Dhanvantari Wellness:

1. Personal Care

Assistance with essential daily routines to maintain hygiene, comfort, and independence:

  • Bathing and showering assistance

  • Dressing and grooming

  • Mobility, transfers, and personal hygiene care

2. Home Support & Homemaking

Practical daily assistance focused directly on the client's immediate living space and nutrition:

  • Meal Preparation: Fresh, nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs.

  • Light Housekeeping: Keeping the client's bedroom, bathroom, and primary care areas clean and organized.

3. Nursing & Clinical Care

Professional, licensed nursing support provided directly in the comfort of home:

  • Medication Management: Timely administration and monitoring of prescribed medications.

  • Wound Care: Clinical dressing changes and ongoing wound monitoring.

  • Vital Checks: Regular tracking of blood pressure, heart rate, and key health indicators.

4. Respite Care

Temporary, reliable care relief to give family caregivers a well-deserved break, knowing their loved one is in safe hands.

5. Palliative Care

Compassionate, respectful end-of-life support focused on pain management, dignity, and physical comfort for both the client and their family.
